WINE OF THE WEEK
Saxenburg
This seductive blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot gives the Saxenburg Guinea Fowl wide appeal. The bouquet is a medley of berry fruit aromas – blackberry and blackcurrents with a hint of spiciness from the Shiraz. It is full of jammy fruit flavours with a rich, warm velvet finish. The wine was aged in French and American barrique for 6 months.
Saxenburg Guinea Fowl is a versatile wine which can be enjoyed with food or on its own. It is the perfect compliment for meat dishes, pasta, pizza and cheese.
Here
at the Courtyard we have a passion for fine wines and great Scottish
malt whiskies - possibly more of a passion than our accountants would
like!
The dining experience throughout is well complemented and served
with an extensive cellar of interesting fine wines from around the
world, and a number of house wines are available by the glass.
Highland Perthshire is home to some of Scotland’s finest
single malt whiskies – including Edradour, from Scotland’s
smallest distillery in nearby Pitlochry – and Glenturret –
from Scotland’s oldest distillery near Crieff, now home to
the Famous Grouse Experience. So naturally, local malt whiskies
feature strongly in an excellent selection of Scottish highland,
island and lowland malts.
