You can have a great meal out and save money in the credit crunch! That’s the message from The Courtyard Restaurant at Kenmore to customers who want to enjoy good local produce at the best possible prices, and save money on some top class wines too.

Proprietor Jake Schamrel, already well known for his promotion of local Highland Perthshire suppliers with his Back to Basics campaign of local produce cooked slowly and deliciously in front of guests on his indoor restaurant BBQ, has joined forces with on-line farmers market Naked Wines to reward loyal customers who come to his restaurant or even browse his website.

Jake has recently launched an online Courtyard Restaurant newsletter and mailing list and by signing up to it on the web customers will receive a voucher from Naked Wines for £25 off a case of wine from this innovative company, who have over 100 years combined experience in the wine industry (their founder, Rowan Gormley, started up Virgin Wines). Customers eating at the restaurant will also receive a voucher.

“Naked Wines are a fantastic company which a lot of people will not know about because they represent worldwide wine makers who don’t spend money on fancy packaging and advertising to get themselves into the UK market, “ said Jake. “They fit really well with my current Back to Basics campaign because it is all about quality produce and good seasonal cooking, no gimmicks or over dressing.”

“We may all have had to do a bit of belt tightening recently but I believe people still want to eat out occasionally and enjoy good food and wine – this is also a way for me to reward loyal customers who come to my restaurant regularly and are helping us all – my staff and my suppliers – survive the Credit Crunch.”
